Collaboration is one of the six strategic pillars of the Canadian Pentecostal Library. It’s how we strengthen our mission to collect and share the stories, ideas, and history of Pentecostalism in Canada.
Milestones in Our First Few Months
Charitable Status
In July 2025, we received charitable status under the category of education. This allows us to issue tax-deductible receipts to donors—an essential step in building trust and sustainability.
Consortium of Pentecostal Archives
We became the first Canadian member of this global digital repository in September 2025. Our goal is to ensure Canadian Pentecostal documents are accessible to researchers worldwide. We’re actively seeking collaboration with denominations and publishers to make this happen.
PAOC Ministry Placement
Though we represent a broad spectrum of Canadian Pentecostal voices, we were approved as a district-recognized ministry within the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (Western Ontario District). This allows our Executive Director to maintain ordination credentials while serving in a non-PAOC-initiated organization.
Publishing Partnerships
We’ve secured permission from authors and families to republish out-of-print or unpublished memoirs by Canadian Pentecostal clergy. These stories are valuable for both academic research and devotional reading—and they’re only available because of collaborative trust.
Informal but Impactful Partnerships
Our Executive Director’s involvement in other organizations has opened doors for informal collaboration:
- A previous consulting role with the PAOC Archives has led to a mutually beneficial relationship. We direct physical items to their collection, and they provide access to materials we can digitize and promote.
- As Chair of the Library and Research Committee of the Society for Pentecostal Studies, we hosted a webinar promoting the Consortium of Pentecostal Archives.
Collaboration in Progress
We’re currently working to secure permissions to include Canadian Pentecostal documents in the Consortium’s repository. This doesn’t affect copyright—it simply makes these resources freely available to researchers.
We’ve also been invited to present seminars, write papers, and collaborate on special projects—all focused on Canadian Pentecostal history.
To Other Organizations: Let’s Work Together
Our experience shows that partnership multiplies impact. Whether formal or informal, collaboration is how we preserve stories, expand access, and build something lasting.
